How to Launch a Private Label Swimwear Brand with Only 100 pcs MOQ

If you've ever pictured your own name on a swimwear collection — whether that's a rack in your boutique or a drop your followers can shop straight from your bio — you've probably hit the same wall: minimum order quantities. Most factories won't even discuss anything under 500 or 1,000 pieces per style. For a boutique testing a new supplier, or a creator turning an audience into an actual product line for the first time, that's not realistic. It's too much cash tied up in stock, and too much risk if a color — or a drop — doesn't move.

So what changes when the MOQ drops to 100 pieces per style per colour?

It's Not Just a Smaller Number — It's a Different Way of Working

How Much Does It Cost to Manufacture Swimwear?

That's also what lowers the barrier to entry for a first-time brand owner. You don't need a wholesale account, a retail background, or a warehouse — just a clear sense of what your customer, or your audience, actually wants to wear. That's the model behind a 12-style, ready-to-produce collection: instead of developing a pattern from scratch (weeks of fitting, a minimum fabric order, a much bigger financial commitment), you choose from styles that are already sampled, fitted, and production-ready.

Low MOQ vs. traditional manufacturing: where the 1,000-unit barrier goes, and what replaces it.

The Process, Step by Step

1. Choose your styles.

2. Choose your fabric, color, and fit group.

  • 3. Approve your sample. Before any bulk production starts, you receive a sample (priced at roughly 1.5x the unit cost, shipping on you). This is your last checkpoint to confirm fit, fabric hand-feel, and color before committing to 100 pieces per style per colour.
  • 4. Production starts with the deposit. Once the sample is approved, a 50% deposit starts production. It typically takes 4 to 6 weeks from the day the deposit is received, and the balance is due before shipment.

Why This Model Works for a First (or Repeat) Order

The real advantage isn't just the low quantity — it's what happens after your first order. Because the colors are kept as standing stock rather than made-to-order, reordering a style that sold well doesn't mean rebuilding your whole collection or waiting on a new fabric run. If a color moves fast in-store, or a piece clearly outperforms the rest of a drop once your audience gets a look at it, you simply order more of that one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a 100-piece MOQ mean at Istanbul Swimwear Studio?

It means 100 pieces per style per colour (or per print). Two styles in one colour each is 200 pieces; one style in two colours is also 200 pieces.

Can I mix sizes within the 100 pieces?

Yes. You can order any quantity of any size from XS to XL, with no required size ratio. Ordering only one size is fine too.

How long does it take from order to shipment?

Samples are sent about a week after payment. After you approve the sample, production takes 4–6 weeks from the day we receive your 50% deposit, and the balance is due before shipment.

Can I reorder the same colour later?

Yes. Our core colours are kept in continuous stock, so you can reorder a style that sold well without waiting for a new fabric run.

What does it cost per piece?

€14–23 FOB Istanbul, depending on the style. Bikini tops and bottoms are priced separately, cups are €1 extra, and freight, customs and import VAT are on the buyer.
